Finnish company Nokia has launched a new mobile phone accessory for charging tha mobile whilst pedalling. Charge your phone with free and eco-friendly energy when you cycle!

The new Nokia device, the DC-14, transfers kinetic energy from riding a bike into charging power. It’s a great idea for cost- and emission-free generation of electricity and for the ability to charge a phone when mains electricity is not readily available (e.g. on a camping trip). The product is compatible with bicycle dynamos both 6V / 3W and 12V / 3W and operates all 2mm Nokia plugs. Charging starts at minimum speed ca. 6 km/h.

The charger is water- and dustproof and due to universal straps can be mounted directly on any kind of bicycle. Charging time depends on the speed of cycling, with the highest performance being achieved at 25 km/h. There is a safety cut off at 50 km/h. The charger comes with all necessary accessories: dynamo, phone holder, protective bag and cables. The price in Poland is 120 PLN (ca. €30).
