Primary school children across the Netherlands travel to school for a better climate. They do this in the European Mobility Week from 12 - 22 September 2010.

During one week children walk, cycle and skate to and from school. Each time they do, they get a Green footstep. They can collect the stickers in an appealing book. This way they learn that it's not only more fun and healthier to go to school without a car, but also better for the environment.

There is extra teaching material available to support the Green Footsteps. This material is available for free from www.groenevoetstappen.nl (in Dutch only). With this material children learn effortlessly something about environmental pollution and other modes of transport to go to school.
