Minister Schultz of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment has announced that program mobility vouchers will be extended in 2012. The mobility vouchers is a subsidy program for medium-sized and large SME in the Netherlands. They can use the small voucher (1,500 Euro) to have a mobility scan conducted. The advisor who conducts the scan determines whether commuting between home and your company’s premises can be done more quickly, less expensively and/or more sustainably.
Vouchers
Until November 2011, more than 1,500 companies applied for vouchers, which more than 70,000 SME employees have been achieved. At least 70% of the participating companies will use the given mobility advice to get started implementing measures. To reach more SMEs, the program is extended until 31 December 2012. Also the budget is increased from 5.5 million Euro to 8 million Euro.
Smart work and travel
The evaluation showed that especially measures concerning the promotion of (electric) bikes, flexible working and more efficient cars and car use are popular. And by using teleconferencing and working at home the number of trips to work are often reduced. Less travel means more efficient use of time and saving costs for employers.
